Into The Deep | Best of 2012

This year has been a big year for Deep House, especially the last half of the year has exploded with new Artists and tracks in this genre. It took me a while to make this list, but after going through all my top tracks for the past year this is what I came up with.

Instead of writing something on each track I am just going to post a Soundcloud link below the track so you can preview the track if you haven't heard it yet. Enjoy, and let me know if there are any tracks you think I missed in the comments.

"Back once again with the renegade masta"

Probably the biggest news for me this week was this surprise gift from Tale Of Us. I first heard this track on a Art Department set from BPM this year and could not find the track anywhere. It's such a jam and THANK YOU Tale Of Us for this free dowload of this killer unreleased track. Just click the download link on the Soundcloud player. Balcazar & Sordo with their usual thundering sub bass awesomeness in this new remix. Check out 1:12 Some people call it Dark, I call it BEAUTIFUL. Check out this gorgeous remix by Eagles & Butterflies by this timeless track by Bookashade...how deep does the rabbit hole go? New to me but over a month old is this jem of a remix by Kerri Chandler. Sick new remix by Miguel Campbell & Matt Hughes, featured by Pete Tong on BBC Radio1 ...no release date yet. Hot Since 82 remixes this beautiful track by Sivesgaard ...release date is set for Dec. 3rd. Heard this track in a few mixes recently and it definitely stuck, check out the whole album on Fly O Tech's Soundcloud. Taken from the new Hunter/Game "An Angel" EP, this track has a solid bass line that will def get you movin. Into The Deep #2

Lee Webster did a great job on this one giving this timeless Massive Attack track the LW treatment Paul Mad coming back with a fresh EP, called "Believe In Love"...buy on Beatport. The EP includes three superb deep-house tunes, my favorite would have to be "Faith" Here is a sick remix by Burnski This track has been getting a lot of attention, it will def go down as one of the biggest tracks of this year. Buy on Beatport "If You Have A Doubt" is a deep heartfelt piece of music. There are a few remixes, but the original is still my favorite...buy on Beatport This track by Duke Dumont from FOR CLUB PLAY ONLY PT 2. has a wicked bassline and some cool vocals. Available now on Beatport. Paulie of the Cosmonauts comin thru again with Mix #2...get your dance on. Here is a wicked podcast/mix by Rey & Kjavik...the track selection is above par. Here is a beautiful podcast/mix by Toky it's loaded with new tracks and he closes with my favorite Toky track at the moment "Prayer For Love"...perfect mix for any afterhours/poolside/drive.

Into The Deep #1

"Into The Deep" is a new themed post that will consist of a compilation of Deep, Sleaze, G, and the occasional Tech & Nu-Disco tracks. This first one I heard in a mix recently and I finally got an ID on it today. According to Gabriel Boni's Soundcloud this track will be released in 1 or 2 months by Inminimax Records, so stay tuned. Maya Jane Cole is a name that should need no introduction, and I will be basically be posting anything new that she is involved in. This track is available now. Buy on: Beatport Adam Banks just posted this one up as a FREE DL...I am a big Adam Banks fan so I grabbed this one up rt away. This next one comes from a 3 track EP by Hunter/Game and FreakMe titled 'Sea Of Love'. My favorite is this track, but "Nocturne" is not bad as well. Buy on: Beatport Also by FreakMe is this wicked edit of Imogen Heap's classic "Headlock". I am usually really picky about tracks and Artists that have been remixed over and over, but he definitely did a good job in making this a dark, dirty dance floor treat. I am a HUGE Louie Fresco fan, his style and his label MEXA is what I wake up in the mornings for. So needless to say I will post pretty much all his stuff as well. This track is a good example of that Sub-bass sound that i like. Buy on: Beatport The XX remixes are flowing in. This one by Atapy & Search DiP is pretty sweet. FREE DL as well Now here are a few mixes that you all should definetly have on rotation in your car, iPod or however you listen to music. This first one by Coat Of Arms is a nice fluid mix of that Deep, Dark House. I am a big fan of Jobe his trademark bass drops are like no other in the biz, and this mix is loaded with fresh new tracks. Fur Coat are another act that should need no intro...and this mix is a good example why. I can't get enough of these guys these days.
Nicola Daniele and Cesare Marocco aka 'NiCe7'are the latest Italian stars to emerge on the worldwide tech/deep house stage. Always managing to illicit great reactions from the crowds they play to thanks to their inimitable DJ style mixing up all styles of 4/4 from techy to darker to more funky, this pair are definitely one to watch in 2012.

Definetly go grab the "Back to the Basics EP"...it's a dance your pants off good time.

Here is a video of the Dirty Bird night at Control in May this year. I finally got around to uploading it today...sorry it took so long.
If you all remember Mike D from the Beastie Boys died that day, so there were a lot of tracks played in honor of him, my favorite moment was at 9:55 when Claude Von Stroke gets on and plays "No Sleep Til Brooklyn".
